National Convention '08 In the City of Brotherly Love

 
Social Democracy of America would like to inform all like minds and comrades that our national convention will be held in Philadelphia, PA as a "presents."

 Saturday, August 30 - Monday, September 1, 2008

The main national convention will be held on-line and over the phone followed by voting on-line.* A cyber location for Philadelphia, PA is now being looked at.

* Ballots by regular mail service must be requested.

  • Please take note of our Points of Unity
  • Each Local is encouraged to write their own Local Platform
  • Each Local is encouraged to write their own Constitution
  • Each Local is encouraged to recruit membership based on Local, not national, concepts of governance
  • Each member is encouraged to cite any err they might feel is problematic
  • Remember, the local gives authority to the national and this can be limited to any degree
  • Do not feel obligated or forced into anything at the state or national level; as Socialists we are free-willed beings

Office hours are open ended M-F from 1:30pm until 5:30pm EST and part time on Saturday from noon until three pm, but never on Sunday.

Our goal is to engage in winnable electoral politics and improve America's engagement with the global socialist movement through the Socialist International. We are reserving all our Right's as Successor, to our namesake, the Social Democrats, USA seat. Observer status was talked about and the cost in American Dollars is about $2,300 annually while full membership with voting rights is just over $10,000. There currently is enough interest that we, together could have one SDoA Representative per time zone sitting in voting seats at those worldwide meetings. Make our America count on this world stage today.
