After the November 2008 major presidential election a group of cross ideological "Socialists" got together to talk about the events and the failure to even beat the 2004 election result of Walt Brown by Brian Moore. This concerned mixed grouping came up with the thought, "Why not renounce factionalism and restore a truely united Socialist Party of America?" We are all "Socialists" and we all are voters so the name was logically and effortlessly selected from a short listing created by "Socialists."
A focal point of the main problem discovered within today's "Socialists" splinter groups is the infulence of democratic centralism, otherwise known as communism. As before in American history, these elements of democratic centralism need to be removed from all "Socialists" assemblies either of democratic socialism or social democracy.
Several warning signs that a Party, Political Action Committee, or otherwise might be either directly democratic centralist e.g. Communist or is strating to be overtaken by such:
- symbolism of extrinsic prejudice (hammer & sickle, red star, the color black often mixed with red in artwork)
- use of violent or militaristic wording (revolution, revolutionary socialist, socialism-communism)
- demographics favoring a weak mindset (youth, poor/limited education, malformation of ethos)
- false prophet or cult like worship of a personality while superseding dogma for a near religion without God
